Candidate will have experience with MIG welding and be knowledge of AWS D17.1 spec and possess a strong background in structural fabrication. The ideal candidate brings strong welding skills and the ability to take a project from a drawing through fabrication and assembly. This role offers the opportunity to work on significant projects within industries such as aerospace and automotive, where precision and quality are paramount.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding and fabrication for aerospace components and assemblies.
- Must be knowledge of AWS D17.1 spec.
- Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, dimensions, and weld symbols.
- Measure, lay out, prepare, and fit components before welding.
- Fabricate and assemble parts to drawing requirements, checking dimensions and alignment throughout the process.
- Use fabrication tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Inspect completed work for weld quality, accuracy, and proper fit.
- Work with the team to resolve fabrication and assembly issues and meet project needs.
- Maintain a safe, organized work area.
Experience
- 2+ years of relevant welding and fabrication experience.
- Strong hands-on MIG welding skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and independently carry work through fabrication and assembly.
- Strong measuring skills and practical shop math, including working with fractions and dimensions.
- Attention to weld quality, fit, alignment, and finished assembly accuracy.
- Dependability, clear communication, and the ability to work effectively with a team.
