Casa Serena is a 6-bed subacute congregate living health facility (CLHF) dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care to residents with complex medical needs.
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Cook / Diet Aide to support meal service and ensure compliance with therapeutic diets and Title 22 standards.
ScheduleMonday – Friday | Day Shift (aligned with meal service needs)
7:30 am - 2:30 pm
Pay$19 – $23 per hour (based on experience)
Position OverviewThe Cook/Diet Aide is responsible for preparing and serving meals in accordance with physician-ordered/Registered Dietitian-recommended diets, ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance with all regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities1 Prepare and serve meals according to planned menus and diet orders2 Follow and correctly implement therapeutic diets (ex: cardiac, diabetic, renal, mechanical soft, puree)3 Ensure accurate tray setup and portioning per resident needs4 Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and infection control practices5 Monitor and log food temperatures and storage compliance6 Maintain kitchen cleanliness in accordance with Title 22 regulations7 Assist with inventory, stocking, and organization of food supplies8 Work collaboratively with nursing staff to support resident care9 Assist with light facility support tasks during downtime (non-laundry)
Qualifications1 Experience in food service, healthcare, or similar setting preferred2 Familiarity with therapeutic and texture-modified diets strongly preferred3 Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices4 Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions5 Ability to work independently in a small team environment
Physical Requirements1 Ability to stand for extended periods2 Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
