Location: Century City, Los Angeles, CA — fully on-site Monday through Friday, with the opportunity to work in a collaborative office environment alongside experienced litigators and firm leadership.

Note: This is a must-have qualification role: candidates must have an active California Bar license and at least 8+ years of litigation and trial experience. The client specifically seeks substantial first-chair trial experience, including multiple jury verdicts and a representative record of bench and/or jury trials taken to verdict.

Job Description

  • Develop trial strategy collaboratively and assume first-chair responsibility for trial efforts.
  • Conduct and oversee complex legal research involving novel and sophisticated issues.
  • Work directly with specialized outside counsel on behalf of the firm and its clients.
  • Draft moving papers, oppositions, and other substantive filings involving complex legal issues.
  • Appear at hearings involving motions and oppositions.
  • Conduct depositions of PMK witnesses, apex employees, mechanical experts, fraud experts, and other key witnesses.
  • Help develop and improve firm policies and procedures, including client communication practices.
  • Identify and resolve issues efficiently and proactively.
  • Communicate directly with clients and provide strong, professional guidance throughout litigation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to advance cases and strengthen litigation strategy.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active California Bar license and membership in good standing.
  • 8+ years of litigation and trial experience as a licensed attorney.
  • Significant first-chair trial experience with a successful record of multiple jury verdicts.
  • Representative experience conducting bench trials and/or jury trials through verdict.
  • Strong client communication skills and a demonstrated commitment to consumer advocacy.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent leadership, organization, time management, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, attorney timekeeping programs, and client file management systems.
  • Spanish bilingual ability is preferred.
  • Arbitration, Coordinated Proceedings, and Multi-District Litigation experience is preferred.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 20 pounds, with reasonable accommodations available as appropriate.
