Job Title: Site Installation Technician
Location: Fremont, CA
Pay rate: $35/hr.W2
Duration: 6 months with possible Extension
Shift timings : 6:00AM-5:00PM
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance of fire alarm systems and related life safety equipment.
- Follow scheduled inspection routes and service commitments.
- Complete inspection reports, service tickets, and documentation using Siemens software and mobile applications.
- Identify system deficiencies, impairments, and code-related issues and communicate findings to customers and management.
- Support service calls and emergency customer requests as needed.
- Maintain assigned tools, test equipment, vehicle stock, and safety equipment.
- Work closely with customers, service coordinators, supervisors, and account managers to ensure successful project execution.
- Adhere to all Siemens safety policies and complete required pre-job safety assessments.
- Maintain compliance with NFPA standards, local AHJ requirements, and Siemens operating procedures.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or state-recognized GED;
- Ability to read and understand design and construction documents.
- Ability to use hand tools, laptops, smartphones, tablets, and PC-based systems for documentation and reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong customer-facing and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while providing dedicated support to customers.
- Ability to carry and move equipment, tools, and materials weighing up to 75 pounds without assistance.
- Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
- Valid driver's license
Preferred
- Experience performing fire alarm inspections, testing, troubleshooting, or maintenance.
- NICET Fire Alarm Systems Certification or NICET Inspection and Testing Certification.
- Working knowledge of NFPA 72 and fire alarm system operation.
- Experience performing inspections and testing of fire and life safety systems, including fire alarm systems, fire doors, fire and smoke dampers (FSDs), emergency lighting, and portable fire extinguishers.
- Applicable certifications related to fire door inspections, fire and smoke damper testing, emergency lighting inspections, portable fire extinguisher inspections, or other life safety systems are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry equipment, tools, and materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Climb ladders, operate aerial lifts, and work above ceilings, in crawl spaces, and mechanical rooms.
- Work in commercial, healthcare, educational, industrial, and construction environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, and perform inspections for extended periods.
