What we’re looking for:
- Valid Special Education Teaching credential
- Experience in early childhood or kindergarten special education preferred
- Knowledge of best practices in ESN (Exceptional Student Needs) classroom environments
- Ability to modify curriculum and instruction for diverse learning levels
- Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with aides, therapists, and families
- Patience, creativity, and excellent communication abilities
Key responsibilities:
- Design and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons and activities in line with IEP goals
- Create a nurturing, inclusive classroom atmosphere that supports varying learning needs
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, administrators, and families to maximize student growth
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the creation and execution of individual plans
- Employ positive behavior support and proactive class management techniques
- Maintain compliance with documentation and reporting requirements
