Job DescriptionRole Summary
Our client, an education provider in the healthcare training space, is seeking a Nursing Instructor to deliver high-quality instruction in both classroom and clinical settings. This role is responsible for supporting student learning, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and contributing to curriculum development and program operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver instruction using effective and innovative teaching methods across classroom, lab, and clinical environments
- Incorporate online tools and activities to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes
- Assist in reviewing and updating course syllabi and instructional materials
- Submit required reports, documentation, and forms in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and clinical competencies
- Ensure student files are up to date with clinical, immunization, and educational requirements
- Stay current with advancements in nursing practice, instructional technology, and safety standards
- Teach courses across various schedules, including evenings, weekdays, and weekends as needed
- Facilitate both didactic instruction and clinical rotations
- Participate in professional development and maintain continuing education requirements for licensure
- Contribute to committee work while prioritizing instructional responsibilities
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of instruction
- Minimum bedside experience:
- 3 years (RN/BSN)
- 6 years (LVN/Associate Degree)
- Ability to meet faculty requirements set by the applicable Board of Vocational Nursing or equivalent regulatory body
- Demonstrated:
- Current knowledge of nursing practice
- Ability to mentor and support students in classroom, lab, and clinical settings
- Strong independent working capability
- Broad understanding of nursing sciences
- Experience managing daily operations in a nursing lab environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Recent or current clinical experience
- Current immunizations and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching or instructional experience in a nursing education program
- Experience with online or hybrid learning platforms
