A hospital-based pharmacist position is available for a medical center with 500 beds in the Los Angeles area. This contract role involves providing pharmaceutical care in a fast-paced hospital environment, supporting patient safety and effective medication use.
Schedule/Hours:
- 8-hour shifts
- Tuesday through Saturday, approximately 11:00 am to 7:30 pm (flexibility around these hours may be required)
Responsibilities include:
- Verifying medication orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness
- Supervising pharmacy technicians to maintain smooth operations
- Consulting and collaborating with physicians and nurses on medication management
- Utilizing hospital systems such as EPIC and Pyxis for order processing and inventory management
Required Qualifications:
- Active California pharmacist license
- Minimum of 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic healthcare setting
