You verify the maintenance log, consult the manual, run a quick diagnostic, and restore smooth, safe operation—then update the PM schedule so the issue doesn’t return. That’s the rhythm of this role: anticipate, prevent, repair, and keep our facility and equipment performing at their best.
What You’ll Do
- Build, install, service, and repair a range of mechanical systems, plant machinery, and facility equipment.
- Diagnose issues methodically and complete routine preventive maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Inspect and test equipment on a regular cadence to verify performance and safety.
- Create and maintain inspection, service, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Read and apply equipment manuals, technical documentation, and operating procedures to plan work.
- Clean, repair, replace, and fit components and parts as needed to restore function.
- Operate hand and power tools and maintenance equipment correctly and safely.
- Spot early signs of wear or malfunction and address them before they escalate.
- Keep the maintenance shop clean, orderly, and compliant with safety expectations.
- Adhere to all company health, safety, and environmental policies and practices.
- Handle general building and facility upkeep when assigned.
- Pitch in on broader maintenance projects and team priorities.
About You
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 2 years in a maintenance mechanic, industrial mechanic, or closely related maintenance role.
- Trade school or vocational training preferred.
- Proven mechanical aptitude with solid troubleshooting capabilities.
- Comfortable and proficient with hand tools and power tools.
- Capable of reading and interpreting manuals and technical instructions.
- Strong computer literacy; able to use maintenance software and related systems.
- Physically able to carry out hands-on mechanical work safely.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations.
- Experience servicing or repairing forklifts is a plus.
