Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Service Writer/Parts role based in Bakersfield, CA. The Service Writer/Parts team member will greet customers, listen to service and parts needs, and accurately document work orders for equipment maintenance and repair. The role includes identifying and sourcing parts, preparing estimates, coordinating with technicians, and tracking jobs from intake through completion to ensure timely and accurate service. Daily responsibilities also involve maintaining parts inventory, processing orders, updating customer records in the system, and communicating clearly with customers about status, timelines, and costs. The person in this role will collaborate closely with the service and sales teams to support efficient operations and high levels of customer satisfaction.

- Experience with equipment service writing, including creating work orders, preparing estimates, and coordinating repairs.
- Knowledge of parts identification and sourcing for construction or heavy equipment, with basic understanding of mechanical components.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information in clear, accessible language.
- Solid organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple service jobs, parts requests, and follow-ups concurrently.
- Comfort with computer systems and basic data entry; experience with service management or inventory software is beneficial.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation, pricing, and inventory tracking.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, sales staff, and management in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
- Prior experience in equipment rental, dealership, construction, or related industry is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or vocational training in equipment or automotive fields is a plus.
