Data Analyst I
Job Overview:
Nexiya is seeking a motivated, curious, and investigative data professional with strong communication and project coordination skills for a contract Data Analyst I position with a Utilities client in their Kearny Mesa office. This role serves as a bridge between technology and the business, ensuring solutions are successfully adopted, supported, and continuously improved after deployment.
The Data Analyst I will perform collaborative data analysis, interpretation, and reporting to provide sound business recommendations while also supporting solution deployment, user adoption, business operations, and continuous process improvement.

Job Functions:
- Perform data collection, analysis, validation, interpretation, and reporting to support business needs and organizational goals.
- Extract, query, transform, and analyze data from various sources, including databases, manual files, and external sources.
- Identify data trends and provide insights and business recommendations based on analysis.
- Create and publish regularly scheduled and ad hoc reports.
- Monitor solution adoption, usage, and performance metrics.
- Identify process gaps, user pain points, and opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement.
- Support testing activities and access management processes.
- Serve as frontline business support and an escalation point for users.
- Coordinate training, communications, and change management activities.
- Provide human-in-the-loop support for AI chatbot solutions.
- Monitor Microsoft Teams channels during and after solution deployment to identify questions, issues, and support needs.
- Design, test, and document processes, SQL queries, and stored procedures.
- Document reporting requirements and processes and validate data components as required.
- Respond to data inquiries from various groups within the organization.
- Query utility customer data files using SQL to support program applications and reporting.
- Maintain project documentation, knowledge assets, and business support resources.
- Assist supervisors and other leads in coordinating strategic and operational meetings and provide follow-up meeting notes.
- Schedule project meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform office administrative tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, and/or relevant experience.
- Minimum 2–3 years of professional data analytical or closely related experience, ideally within the utility, construction, or a similar industry preferred.
- Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and/or statistical software.
- Experience querying large datasets using data management software.
- Ability to interpret data for trends, quickly understand business needs, draw conclusions, and provide topics of discussion and potential solutions.
- Ability to utilize data manipulation techniques while extracting, querying, and transforming data.
- Ability to develop and present clear and effective insights based on data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong customer service skills and proactive follow-up with internal and external stakeholders.
- Superior organizational skills with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize responsibilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to solve problems within established policies and procedures.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of SQL queries and searches
- Must be able to successfully pass the background screening process.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Pay Range:
Min: $30/hour
Max: $38/hour
