Use Your Hands to Help Train the Next Generation of Robots
Paid, Hands-Only Video Research Project
We are seeking adults to capture first-person videos of their hands picking up, holding, moving, and setting down everyday objects found in their homes.
Participants wear a provided head-mounted camera that points toward their hands and the objects they are handling. Your face and voice are not recorded.
Recording equipment, instructions, and training are provided.
Participation spots are limited.
Time Commitment
Participants must be able to:
- Record for at least 3–5 hours per day
- Begin promptly after completing onboarding
- Record and upload videos consistently
- Commit additional hours when tasks are available
Participants who begin quickly and submit more usable content can earn money faster.
Compensation: Earn Up to $1,450
Compensation includes:
- $25 for each hour of usable video content accepted through quality review
- $25 for each completed batch of video files uploaded
Payment is based on accepted video content—not the total time spent preparing, recording, re-recording, transferring, or uploading files.
Total compensation depends on the amount of assigned content completed, accepted, and uploaded. The $1,450 maximum is not guaranteed.

Basic Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have a computer and reliable high-speed internet
- Be comfortable wearing a head-mounted camera
- Be able to follow detailed instructions
- Be available to record for at least 3–5 hours per day
- Be willing to re-record content that does not meet quality requirements
Home Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Access to at least five usable rooms (e.g. kitchen, living room, bedroom, etc)
Physical Requirements
Some tasks require participants to:
- Use both hands at the same time
- Stand, sit, walk, reach, turn, and bend
- Bend down to pick up objects from the floor
- Carry objects a short distance
- Place objects into a basket or designated area
- Repeat movements multiple times
- Wear lightweight head-mounted camera equipment while moving
Eligible Locations and Equipment Pickup
Applicants must:
- Live in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles County, or the Inland Empire
- Be able to pick up the recording equipment in person at a designated location within their eligible region
- Be able to return the equipment in person when participation ends
