CX & Operations Assistant
Job Description
Customer Experience & Operations Assistant\n
Part-time · In-person, Atwater Village (Los Angeles) · $23–25/hr · Start ASAP
\n
\n
Tend is a founder-led women's health brand making soft-baked, whole-food prenatal nutrition bars: real-food vitamins for pregnancy (and beyond), created by a PhD nutrition scientist. We're small, growing fast, and building something people genuinely love.
\n
\n
We're looking for a sharp, warm, quick-thinking person to be the voice of Tend to our customers and a right hand across the business. You'll own our customer experience day to day, and help with the brand, operations, and partnership work that keeps a growing company moving. This is a unique opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to learn how a brand really gets built – working directly with the founders.
\n
Customer Experience (~55%) — you own this\n
- \n
- Own the customer inbox — respond to every customer across email and social with warmth, accuracy, and speed, in our voice
- Make the judgment calls: decide how to resolve most customer issues on your own, and know when to escalate
- Own our CX quality — response time, satisfaction, and the tone that makes people love us
- Build and improve our library of saved responses and common answers
- Navigate Shopify, subscriptions (Stay.ai), and fulfillment back-end for order history and status
- Spot patterns and flag them upstream

Partnerships, Packages & Operations (~45%)\n
- \n
- Pack and ship influencer packages — including a handwritten note — and the occasional customer package. Hands-on work that makes an impact.
- Support our creator and affiliate relationships — keeping our confirmed partners and Women's-launch creators on track (outreach, follow-up, tracking in Airtable, Refersion, Trybe). Focused and high-quality, not high-volume.
- Do quick, sharp research when we need to make a decision — competitors, partners, ingredients, trends — and come back with a point of view, not just links
- Keep our systems and trackers organized and current
- Pitch in on brand, content, and launch projects as they come up
\n

You'll thrive here if you're\n
- \n
- Quick — you think on your feet, learn fast, and don't need everything spelled out
- Warm and expressive — people feel taken care of when they hear from you, and it comes through in your writing
- Self-directed — you see what needs doing and do it, then loop us in; you'd rather bring a draft than ask what to say
- Resourceful — when you don't know something, you go find out
- Organized and genuinely detail-oriented
- Excited about women's health, wellness, and building a brand from the ground up

Nice to have: experience with CX tools, Shopify, or Airtable; an eye for design; a background or interest in nutrition, public health, or wellness.
\n
Logistics\n
- \n
- Part-time, ~12–15 hours/week to start, with room to grow
- Must be LA-based, with a flexible mix of working from and occasional time in person
- $23–25/hour depending on experience
- A change to learn how a growing brand is built from the inside, with room to take on more as you show what you’re great at.

- Why this role
- A time you turned an unhappy or frustrated person around — what you said and why (a few sentences; this is the heart of the job)
- One thing you'd change or improve about a women's health, food, or wellness brand you admire — and why

We care more about how you think and write than a formal résumé, but include one if you have it. Subject line: CX & Operations Assistant.
