Job DescriptionWe are looking for a detail-oriented Legal Secretary to support a busy legal team in Calabasas, California. This Contract position is ideal for someone who is confident handling court-related documentation, coordinating schedules, and keeping legal records organized in a fast-paced environment. The role will work closely with attorneys, clients, courts, and outside parties to help maintain efficient daily operations and ensure filings and deadlines are managed accurately.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare, revise, proofread, and finalize a wide range of legal materials, including pleadings, agreements, correspondence, and court submissions.
• Manage attorney calendars by arranging meetings, tracking important deadlines, and scheduling hearings, court appearances, and other case-related events.
• Organize and maintain both digital and paper case files so documents are accessible, current, and properly stored.
• Handle court filing activities by assembling required materials, submitting documents electronically, and confirming compliance with state and federal filing procedures.
• Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel to relay information, coordinate logistics, and support case progress.
• Provide administrative assistance to attorneys and legal staff through document preparation, data entry, and general office support.
• Monitor deadlines and procedural requirements to help ensure all submissions are completed accurately and delivered on time.• At least 3 years of experience in a legal secretary, legal assistant, or comparable administrative role within a legal environment.
• Working knowledge of court filing procedures, civil rules, and legal documentation standards, including electronic filing practices.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare, format, and process legal documents with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills with experience managing calendars, maintaining records, and balancing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with attorneys, clients, courts, and internal team members.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Adobe, and document management tools, along with the ability to learn new legal software quickly.
• College degree or equivalent required; legal secretarial training, paralegal coursework, or related certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with legal matters related to real estate, business, or bankruptcy is a plus.
