Location: onsite in Santa Clara, CA
Pay: $37/hr-$53/hr

A global biotechnology leader is seeking a mechanical engineer to support development of consumable fluidic devices, with educational and/or professional background in mechanical and/or process engineering. The mechanical engineer will be responsible for supporting consumable device components and surface chemistry teams in a variety of activities as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Flowcell manufacturing, process development and assembly.
- Facilitate senior engineers in SolidWorks design.
- Dimensional and mechanical measurements, including data analysis and reporting.
- Surface metrology and characterization.
- Component testing, quality checks, and visual inspection.
- Sample preparation for external analysis.
- Component and subcomponent inventory management; shipping preparation and receiving.
- This role will have a focus on supporting multiple engineering activities in a timely manner, to support the needs of the project as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline from an accredited institution.
- 0-2 years of professional experience required.
- Excellence in familiarity with SolidWorks, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets or equivalent required.
- Microfabrication, microfluidics and materials knowledge or experience.
- Familiarity with metrology or microscopy equipment.
