Temporary Cabinet & Millwork Shop – Experienced Woodworker
We are a small, established custom cabinet and millwork shop in Orange, CA, looking for an experienced and dependable woodworker/cabinetmaker to help us complete a large upcoming project.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on woodworking and takes pride in producing accurate, clean, high-quality work. We are looking for someone who can step into a busy shop environment, follow instructions, work efficiently, and contribute to the team.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities may include:
- Building, assembling, and installing components for custom cabinets and millwork
- Operating a table saw, router, and other woodworking machinery and handheld power tools
- Measuring, cutting, drilling, and assembling materials with precision
- Reading and working from shop drawings, plans, measurements, and cut lists
- Preparing materials and components for assembly
- Performing detailed woodworking and finishing-related tasks
- Checking your work for accuracy, fit, alignment, and overall quality
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Following project specifications and instructions from the shop lead
- Working efficiently while maintaining a high standard of craftsmanship
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in cabinetmaking, custom woodworking, millwork, finish carpentry, or a similar trade.
You should be:
- Proficient with table saws, routers, drills, screw guns, and other handheld woodworking tools
- Comfortable reading shop drawings and following detailed cut lists
- Able to accurately measure and work to specifications
- Detail-oriented with a strong eye for quality and craftsmanship
- Comfortable working independently when given direction
- Reliable, punctual, and responsible
- Able to take direction and ask questions when clarification is needed
- A team player who works well with others
- Someone who takes pride in their work and cares about producing a quality finished product
Personal Tools
Applicants should have their own basic woodworking hand tools, including a drill/driver, screw gun, and other commonly used handheld woodworking tools.
Schedule
Monday–Friday
8:30 AM–4:30 PM
This is a temporary position to help us complete a large project. The length of the assignment will depend on the project timeline and workload. There may be opportunities for additional work for the right person based on performance and future projects.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who can come into a small shop environment and be productive from day one. You don't need to be a master cabinetmaker, but you should have solid hands-on woodworking experience, understand how to safely use shop tools, and be comfortable working from drawings and measurements.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone with a good attitude, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to work as part of a team.
