Snapshot / Role Overview

We're looking for a Senior Air-Side HVAC Mechanical Engineer, PE, in the San Jose area to lead the design of air handling, distribution, and cleanroom ventilation systems on large commercial projects.

Impact

• Own air-side design from concept through construction.
• Deliver systems that balance, filter, and perform as promised.
• Shape the next generation of engineers on the team.

Responsibilities

• Lead air-side engineering on complex commercial and institutional projects.
• Perform load calculations, system sizing, equipment selection, and airflow analysis.
• Develop and review drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Work with project managers, BIM teams, drafters, and field supervisors.
• Support bidding, construction, and commissioning.
• Lead value-engineering conversations with clients and consultants.
• Mentor junior engineers.

Must-Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in California.
• Eight or more years of HVAC engineering focused on air-side systems in commercial construction.
• Deep knowledge of duct distribution, air balancing, and energy efficiency.

Nice-to-Haves

• Cleanroom or life-science project experience.
• Advanced Revit and energy modeling skills.
