Join a vital health services team providing pharmacy care within a secure correctional setting in Southern California. This long-term, open-ended contract opportunity seeks two licensed pharmacists to support operations at a high-volume jail pharmacy serving the local county health system. The facility operates 24/7, with shifts available for experienced pharmacists during evening and overnight hours.
Location: Downtown area, Los Angeles
Schedule:
- Evening shift: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- Overnight shift: 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- 7.5-hour shifts, 37.5 hours per week total
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense medications accurately and safely within a correctional health pharmacy environment
- Ensure compliance with medication safety protocols and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes
- Maintain detailed records and documentation for all pharmaceutical activities
- Participate in competency testing and security clearance procedures as required
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid California Pharmacist license
- Minimum of 2 years of retail or outpatient pharmacy experience preferred
- Ability to complete a comprehensive security clearance process, including documentation submission, competency testing, and fingerprinting (Livescan)
- Comfortable working in a secure jail pharmacy facility with strict safety protocols
Additional Information:
- Applicants must submit documentation by June 7 to be considered for the June 19 interview date, which includes a facility tour emphasizing workplace safety
- Anticipated start date: mid-July
