Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt Location: Concord, CA; 100% onsite
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team with a strong focus on Supplier Quality Management, Internal Auditing, and AS9100 compliance. This role supports product quality and manufacturing processes within our aerospace environment. The position works closely with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve processes. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in quality engineering principles, demonstrates effective problem-solving skills, and shows a willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This 100% in-office role is based in Concord, CA and will occasionally require travel to support business needs. Expected travel frequency is <10%.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Supplier Quality activities, including supplier evaluations, audits, approval processes, performance monitoring, and corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct root cause analysis and drive effective RCCA with suppliers to prevent recurrence of nonconformances.
- Execute and maintain the internal audit schedule to ensure compliance with AS9100, internal procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and document audit findings, track corrective actions, and verify the effectiveness of implemented improvements.
- Participate in external audits (customer and certification body) and support audit readiness activities.
- Assist in MRB (Material Review Board) activities, including documentation and tracking.
- Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven analysis.
- Work with production teams to address quality issues on the manufacturing floor.
- Support inspection activities throughout the manufacturing process, including the execution, documentation and verification of First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Assist with customer return investigations and documentation.
- Track, report, and present quality metrics such as scrap and nonconformance trends.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of experience in Quality Engineering within manufacturing or a regulated industry.
- Foundational understanding of AS9100 or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Hands-on experience with supplier quality activities.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and basic GD&T requirements.
- Working knowledge of standard quality tools (e.g., 5-Why, 8D, Fishbone, RCCA).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with suppliers, team members, and management.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship (U.S. citizenship or Permanent Resident).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal audit certification is a plus.
- Direct experience leading supplier audits or managing supplier performance metrics.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or 5S concepts.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP and PLM systems.
- Energetic and quick to adapt to changing business needs.

Compensation: This position offers a salary range of $80,000 to $115,000 depending on the candidate's experience, skill set, and overall qualifications.
