A dynamic opportunity is available for a Pharmacist to provide essential pharmacy services at a healthcare facility with 173 licensed beds and an average daily census of 140 patients. This per diem position offers flexible coverage hours during variable days and afternoons, allowing adaptability to your schedule. The assignment duration is approximately 13 weeks or longer.
Responsibilities include verifying medication orders, overseeing pharmacy technicians to ensure accuracy and compliance, collaborating closely with nurses and physicians to optimize patient care, and applying pharmacokinetics principles to tailor drug therapies. The pharmacy operates with the Allscripts/Paragon order entry system and utilizes Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets, supporting efficient medication management.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid pharmacist license in the state of California
- Experience with medication order entry systems, preferably Allscripts/Paragon
- Familiarity with Pyxis automated dispensing cabinets or similar technology
- Strong understanding of pharmacokinetics and clinical pharmacy practices
- Excellent communication skills for consulting with healthcare professionals
- Proven ability to supervise pharmacy technicians effectively
