Job Summary
\n
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) evaluates, diagnoses, and treats individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. The SLP develops individualized treatment plans, provides evidence-based therapy, monitors progress, and collaborates with families, caregivers, teachers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to support clients’ communication and functional needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, communication, cognition, voice, fluency, and swallowing abilities.
- Diagnose communication and swallowing disorders based on assessment results.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and measurable goals.
- Provide individual and/or group speech and language therapy using evidence-based techniques.
- Treat articulation, phonological, receptive and expressive language, fluency, voice, social communication, and cognitive-communication disorders.
- Evaluate and treat feeding and swallowing difficulties when within scope of practice.
- Monitor client progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.
- Communicate regularly with families, caregivers, teachers, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Provide education and training to clients, families, caregivers, and staff regarding communication strategies and therapeutic techniques.
- Participate in care planning, team meetings, and case conferences.
- Maintain compliance with professional standards, facility policies, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Maintain current professional knowledge through continuing education and professional development.
