Amusement and Facilities Technician
Job Description
Job DescriptionDescription:
Buckley’s Family Adventure opens this fall in Woodland Hills. 25,000 square feet. Electric go-karts, laser tag, a two-story play structure, an arcade full of machines, a commercial kitchen, and all the building systems underneath it. Somebody has to keep every bit of it running.
What you’ll actually do
Preventive maintenance on the kart fleet and every attraction in the building. Diagnose and repair arcade games, ticket and redemption systems, and play structure components. Troubleshoot kitchen and facility equipment. Manage parts inventory and vendor relationships. And build the maintenance program itself — the schedules, the logs, the standards — because right now it doesn’t exist.
Who we’re looking for
Someone genuinely hands-on who wants to know why it broke, not just make it stop breaking today. You take as much pride in prevention as in repair. Being the person everyone relies on energizes you rather than wearing you down.
Important: this job happens in front of people. You’ll be troubleshooting a kart with a family fifteen feet away wondering when they can ride. If you need to be alone in a back room to think, this isn’t your role. If you can stay calm and friendly with an audience, it very much is.
Mechanical, electrical, automotive, HVAC, amusement, or facilities backgrounds all translate. Small-engine, EV, and low-voltage experience are real pluses. We care more about how you diagnose than what’s on your résumé.
The honest part
Nights, weekends, and holidays — things break when we’re busiest. There’ll be some on-call. And in a first-year facility you’ll be discovering problems nobody documented, because nobody’s been here yet. You’re effectively building this building’s reputation for reliability starting from nothing.
What we offer
$26.00/hour · Free meal every shift up to $25 · 4 Adventure Passes a month · 40 hours PTO annually (90-day wait, 80-hour cap) · California paid sick leave · 1.5x holiday pay · Your birthday off, paid · $20/paycheck cell phone allowance · $20/paycheck uniform allowance · Up to $250/year toward technical training and certification

- Comfortable using hand and power tools safely and correctly
- Able to read and interpret equipment manuals, wiring diagrams, or schematics
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills under time pressure, often with guests waiting nearby
- Comfortable being visible and approachable around guests while working — friendly, easygoing demeanor required; this isn't a behind-the-scenes-only role
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

- Experience at a similar family entertainment venue — Dave & Buster's, Chuck E. Cheese, Main Event, Round1, or similar
- Small engine or go-kart repair experience
- Experience with low-voltage or electronic systems (sensors, laser tag equipment, control panels)
