Modality: Asynchronous online via Orbund LMS, with Regular and SubstantiveInteraction (RSI)

Minimum QualificationsPer California Title 5 §53410 and ACCJC Standard III.A:

• Master's degree in any biological science (Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology,Zoology, Genetics, Cell Biology, or related), OR• Bachelor's degree in Biology + Master's degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics, or MarineScience, OR• Equivalent qualifications as approved through TTC's faculty equivalency processPreferred Qualifications• PhD in Human Biology, Anatomy, Physiology, or related field• Background in human development, child biology, or pediatric health• Teaching experience at the community college or university level• Online teaching experience (asynchronous, Adobe Connect, or LMS-based)• Interest in connecting biological content to early childhood education contexts

Primary Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the BIO-101 Human Biology course syllabus with explicitconnections to child development• Cover course content including: cell biology, genetics, prenatal development, childgrowth, neurology of learning, sensory development, motor development, nutrition, andhuman reproduction• Use Johnson & Long's Human Biology: Concepts and Current Issues (9th ed.) as theprimary textbook (or Curriculum Committee–approved alternative)• Document and assess Student Learning Outcomes per ACCJC Standard II.A.4• Coordinate with EEAS faculty to ensure cross-disciplinary alignment with ECEcoursework• Teach 5-week accelerated terms multiple times per academic year

Standard Faculty Responsibilities (All Theoria Instructors)

• Maintain Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) per IPM 4.8 and 34 CFR §600.2• Submit weekly RSI Self-Log per institutional procedure• Document Student Learning Outcomes assessment per IPM and Curriculum Committeeschedule• Provide timely grading and feedback (responses to student communications within 48hours)• Participate in faculty development and Curriculum Committee processes
