Financial Analyst – Accounts Payable
Location: San Francisco, CA — Hybrid, typically 3 days onsite per week
Duration: Approximately 8 months, starting immediately; duration may vary based on business needs
Schedule: Additional onsite attendance may be required during training and system implementation.
About the Role
We’re seeking a Financial Analyst with accounts payable or accounting experience and strong technical aptitude to support a high-volume AP team. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of relevant experience, learn new systems quickly, and can independently troubleshoot issues. More experienced candidates are also welcome.
Responsibilities
- Process and code invoices, credit memos, and payment requests accurately and on time.
- Obtain approvals and review invoices for budget, policy, and documentation compliance.
- Research and resolve complex invoice discrepancies and unpaid invoices.
- Support reconciliations, reporting, and process improvements.
- Assess applicable sales and use taxes and identify transactions subject to 1099 reporting.
- Maintain AP documentation and manage work queues within established service levels.
- Create operational and ad hoc reports using large data sets.
- Provide guidance on procure-to-pay policies and support internal departments and vendors.
- Learn new workflows and assist with an Oracle system implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Accounts payable or accounting experience, ideally 1–2 years.
- Experience beyond basic invoice processing, such as reconciliations, reporting, or process improvement.
- Proficiency in Excel and experience with an online AP system or large ERP.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to understand complex processes, learn new technology, and work independently.
- Comfortable managing a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work onsite in San Francisco at least 3 days per week.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hospital or university experience.
- Oracle Fusion Cloud and GHX experience.
- Technical or analytical skills such as SQL, Power BI, or programming; these are not required.
Additional Requirement
