CNC Lathe Machinist (Level I–III) – 2nd Shift
Location: Cypress, CA
Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
Pay Range: $23.50–$29.50/hr (Targeting Level II) + $2/hr shift differential
Also open to entry-level and highly experienced machinists (adjusted pay based on experience)
Position Overview
As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes to produce high-precision aerospace components, ensuring quality, maintaining equipment, and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
While we are primarily seeking a Level II machinist, we are open to training strong Level I candidates and leveraging the expertise of Level III machinists.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC lathes (and mills, if applicable)
- Perform in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Prepare and adjust tooling as needed
- Troubleshoot machining and basic programming issues
- Maintain documentation for tooling, inspections, and machine performance
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
- Support continuous improvement and production efficiency efforts
What We’re Looking For
Preferred (Level II Focus):
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience
- Strong blueprint reading and G-Code knowledge
- Experience with setups and troubleshooting
- Ability to hold tight tolerances in a production environment
Also Open To:
- Level I (Entry-Level): 1+ year of experience or technical training; strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Level III (Advanced): 5+ years of experience with advanced setups, programming adjustments, and mentoring capabilities
Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (technical training is a plus)
- Experience with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
- Familiarity with CNC controls (Okuma, Tornos, or similar preferred)
- Knowledge of G-Code and/or MasterCAM is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety
- Team-oriented with a proactive mindset
