Role Summary
The Material Handler / Technician is responsible for receiving, storing, tracking, and issuing materials that support manufacturing, testing, and engineering laboratory operations. This role ensures accurate inventory control, safe material handling, and compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards while working with computer and server-related hardware.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Accurately log part numbers, quantities, and serial numbers into inventory systems.
- Store materials in designated locations in compliance with FIFO and ESD requirements.
- Kit and stage materials for manufacturing, testing, and engineering laboratory use.
- Issue, track, and manage materials using manual logs and inventory systems.
- Perform material movements between stockrooms, laboratories, and production areas.
- Conduct cycle counts and support physical inventory audits.
- Identify, label, and segregate nonconforming or damaged materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe stockroom and staging environment.
- Support shipping, packaging, and receiving activities as required.
- Maintain shipment logs, including tracking details and delivery status.
- Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Experience in material handling, inventory control, or stockroom operations.
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to accurately follow work instructions and update documentation as required.
- Experience routing power cords and LAN cables.
- Ability to learn and use software tools for order submission, shipping, and import/export documentation.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage part numbers, serial numbers, and quantities accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering labs, or production environments.
- Familiarity with ESD handling requirements and FIFO inventory practices.
- Basic computer hardware and software troubleshooting experience (with training).
- Experience working with computer, server, storage, or networking equipment.
