Job DescriptionCorporate Insurance Associate Attorney
Direct Counsel is seeking a Corporate Insurance Associate Attorney to join a leading global law firm. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience advising clients on corporate insurance matters, including insurance placements and claims management involving Directors & Officers (D&O) insurance, representations & warranties insurance, cyber liability, and other lines of insurance.
Experience with commercial contract indemnification matters, D&O advancement and indemnification issues, corporate/M&A disputes, and securities litigation is a plus.
Locations: New York, NY; Palo Alto, CA; San Francisco, CA; Other U.S. offices may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.
Qualifications:

3-6 years of direct and applicable experience, preferably with an AmLaw 100 firm.

JD from an accredited law school.

Admission to practice in the state where the attorney is located.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent attention to detail and sound business and professional judgment.

Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
Responsibilities:

Advise clients on corporate insurance matters, including insurance placements and claims management.

Handle matters involving D&O insurance, representations & warranties insurance, cyber liability insurance, and other insurance products.

Conduct thorough legal research and analysis and provide practical, well-reasoned advice.

Draft and review legal documents, contracts, briefs, motions, and correspondence.

Assist with complex matters from inception through resolution, including negotiations, settlements, and other legal proceedings.

Develop and maintain strong internal and external client relationships.

Collaborate with attorneys and business professionals to develop effective legal strategies.

Participate in negotiations, hearings, depositions, trials, closings, and other high-level legal activities as appropriate.

Stay current on changes in applicable laws, regulations, and legal precedents.

Participate in professional development, firm initiatives, pro bono work, and community involvement.
Compensation: $235,000-$390,000 annually, depending on geographic market, experience, skills, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
This is a hybrid position requiring regular in-office presence with some flexibility to work remotely.
