Responsibilities
As the Deli Department Lead, youll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our deli department, which features 100% pre-packaged productsno slicing, cutting, or weighing required! Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Receiving, inspecting, and stocking deliveries while maintaining accurate product rotation (FIFO) and checking expiration dates daily.
- Keeping the walk-in cooler, backroom, and department clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Ensuring shelves are fully faced and products are displayed properly.
- Supporting the front-end registers as a backup cashier when needed.
- Completing assigned tasks efficiently and independently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
Fixed Work Schedule
This position requires a fixed schedule of Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with 3035 hours per week. These days and hours are mandatory, and additional hours may be available based on store needs. If you are unable to meet this schedule, we kindly ask that you do not apply.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, youll need the following:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a deli department or grocery store.
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with deli and refrigerated grocery products.
- Experience with receiving, stocking, FIFO rotation, and expiration-date checks.
- Ability to work in a refrigerated cooler for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- High standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization.
- Ability to assist as a backup cashier when needed.
Preferred Skills
While not required, candidates with the following skills will receive additional consideration:
- Electric Pallet Jack Experience Strongly Preferred.
- Forklift Experience Major Advantage.
Training and authorization will be provided for any equipment operation.
