Provide critical pharmacy services in a correctional health setting, primarily at the Twin Towers Jail Pharmacy in Downtown Los Angeles. This long-term contract role involves working in a secure, fast-paced environment that serves a unique patient population around the clock.
Responsibilities:
- Dispense, review, and verify prescriptions in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Conduct clinical chart reviews, medication refill authorizations, and assist with medical billing.
- Support transition of care efforts by coordinating medication management for patients entering or leaving custody.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective medication use.
- Maintain security protocols and comply with facility-specific requirements.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active California pharmacist license.
- Minimum 2 years of retail or outpatient pharmacy experience.
- Familiarity with federal RX regulations.
- Experience with clinical chart review, medication refill authorization, and medical billing is highly preferred.
- Local candidates are preferred to facilitate timely onboarding and scheduling flexibility.
Schedule:
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Shifts rotate among days (6 am–2 pm), evenings (2 pm–10 pm), and overnights (10 pm–6 am).
- Pharmacy services operate 24/7, requiring shift work.
Additional Details:
- Requires successful completion of a multistep hiring process including security clearance forms, interviews, competency tests, and Livescan fingerprinting.
- Facility tours provided during the interview process to showcase the safe working environment.
- Anticipated start within 4 weeks after the interview.
- Preparation and submission of documentation necessary prior to interview date (TBD).
