Insight Global is seeking a compassionate and reliable Medical Assistant to support a busy Colon & Rectal Surgery practice. This individual will play a key role in providing exceptional patient care, assisting physicians during examinations and minor procedures, maintaining clinical areas, and ensuring the office operates efficiently. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and comfortable working in a surgical specialty environment involving direct patient care.
** This is to cover a mat leave so it a 3 month extending contract
Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians with patient care, including obtaining vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with minor procedures.
- Prepare exam rooms before patient visits and maintain cleanliness throughout the day.
- Ensure exam rooms and clinical areas remain fully stocked with supplies.
- Monitor and maintain restroom cleanliness between patient visits.
- Properly prepare and label biopsy specimens for laboratory pickup.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly clinical logs and compliance checklists.
- Assist with front office responsibilities as needed.
- Answer phones and support administrative functions when requested.
- Deliver excellent patient service while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Required Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar patient care role.
- Comfortable working in a Colon & Rectal Surgery practice, including exposure to bodily fluids and colorectal care procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and professional clinical environment.
