Registered Nurse (RN)
Full-Time | Evening Shift
2:00 PM–10:30 PM
Job Summary
Golden Merced Care Center in Merced, CA, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to assume responsibility and accountability for a group of residents/patients during an assigned shift. The ideal candidate provides quality nursing care, adheres to applicable standards of care, maintains resident/patient safety, and supervises resident/patient care activities.
Essential Position Duties

Makes frequent rounds to monitor resident/patient conditions and ensure nursing personnel are performing their assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.

Gives and receives nursing reports at the beginning and end of each shift.

Ensures assigned work areas, including the nurse station, medication cart, and medication room, as well as resident/patient care rooms and treatment areas, are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.

Monitors supplies and orders as needed.

Follows all policies and procedures and performs duties in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act.

Reviews care plans at least daily to ensure appropriate care is being provided.

Notifies the Director of Nursing and/or Resident Care Manager of changes in resident/patient condition.

Receives and transcribes physician orders to resident/patient charts, Kardex/Care Plan A, Medication Administration Records (MAR), and treatment/care plans as required.

Prepares and administers medications and performs treatments as ordered by the physician.

Documents all pertinent information as required by Medicare, Medicaid, and company standards and policies.

Counts controlled substances with another nurse at shift change and notifies the Director of Nursing and/or Resident Care Manager of any medication or narcotic discrepancies noted during the shift.

Keeps the medication room and medication cart locked in accordance with applicable regulations and is responsible for the security of medication keys.

Follows and adheres to policies and procedures implementing HIPAA requirements for the privacy and security of protected health information.
Education, Licensure, & Experience Requirements

Must possess a current RN license in good standing.

Must have at least 1 year of experience as a supervisor in a healthcare setting.

Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
-
Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing care facilities.
