Position Overview
\n
Our client is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join its corporate accounting organization and lead a team responsible for accounting and operational activities related to general liabilities, including AP accruals, contingencies, vendor rebates, and debt.
\n
This is a highly visible leadership role requiring strong technical accounting knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to influence cross-functionally. The successful candidate will drive accurate and efficient accounting processes, develop team talent, and lead initiatives to improve systems, controls, and automation.

Key Responsibilities
\n
- \n
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Oversee accounting for general liabilities, including AP accruals, contingencies, vendor rebates, debt, and purchase-order accruals
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable regulatory requirements
- Lead, develop, and mentor accounting professionals while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Partner with Accounting, Finance, and business leaders to resolve complex accounting and operational issues
- Research and interpret evolving U.S. GAAP, FASB, and SEC guidance and incorporate relevant changes into accounting policies and processes
- Apply strong professional judgment and skepticism when evaluating accounting matters and financial risks
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate close, reconciliation, reporting, and other accounting processes
- Leverage AI and automation to improve efficiency, accuracy, scalability, and risk management
- Assess the accounting and operational impact of new systems, processes, and business initiatives
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls and accounting procedures
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications
\n

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years of post-graduate accounting experience
- CPA preferred; MBA a plus
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accrual accounting, and internal controls
- Proven experience managing and developing accounting teams
- Strong understanding of end-to-end accounting processes and financial systems
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver against tight deadlines
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and risk assessment skills
- Ability to influence and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, multi-business-unit environment
- Experience using AI and automation to improve accounting processes and reporting
