Job DescriptionStep into Precision: Your Day as a CNC Lathe/Mill Machinist
Pay Range: $26.00–$32.00 per hour (based on experience)
What Your Day Looks Like
You arrive to a clean, organized shop, review the day’s prints, and select the right tooling for a new run. You load up the CNC lathe or milling center, confirm offsets, and plan the sequence of operations. With feeds and speeds dialed in, you produce tight-tolerance parts, checking dimensions as you go and making careful adjustments to keep everything on spec. You wrap by inspecting finished pieces, documenting results, and returning the workstation to a safe, orderly state.
Core Impact
- Operate and maintain CNC lathes and mills to deliver accurate, repeatable results
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to guide production
- Use precise measurement tools to verify parts meet specifications
- Select appropriate tooling, equipment, and settings for each job
- Plan and execute the proper order of machining operations
- Monitor production and fine‑tune feeds, speeds, and offsets as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, OSHA‑conscious work environment
- Inspect finished parts to ensure quality and compliance
What You’ll Bring
- Hands‑on experience running CNC lathes and/or milling machines
- Fluent blueprint and technical drawing interpretation
- Basic CNC programming knowledge (preferred)
- Familiarity with Mazak Mazatrol controls (strong plus)
- Fabrication experience is a plus
- Welding experience or certifications are a plus
- Keen attention to detail and strong problem‑solving skills
