- Field Locating: Operate electromagnetic locators, ground-penetrating radar (GPR), and other detection tools to find buried lines.
- Site Marking: Clearly mark underground paths on the ground using standardized color-coded spray paint, flags, or whiskers.
- Record & Map Interpretation: Read and analyze blueprints, maps, project schematics, and GIS data to research site history.
- Documentation: Process work orders and update digital or paper tickets using laptop computers or mobile software.
- Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate and communicate clearly with contractors, homeowners, and project managers to ensure safe digging.
