Role Description The Federal Civil Rights Associate Attorney will handle a full-time, on-site role based in Newport Beach, CA. Day-to-day responsibilities include investigating civil rights claims, conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, and preparing legal memoranda. The attorney will meet with clients, provide legal advice, evaluate case merits, and assist in developing litigation strategies. The role also involves participating in depositions, hearings, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation, while collaborating with partners, staff, and experts to advance federal civil rights cases. The associate will be expected to manage a caseload, track deadlines, and maintain clear, professional communication with clients and court personnel.\n
Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Law and demonstrated interest or experience in Federal Civil Rights Law.
- Knowledge of Labor and Employment Law, particularly as it relates to discrimination, retaliation, and workplace civil rights issues.
- Ability to provide clear, practical Legal Advice to clients and colleagues in complex civil rights matters.
- Excellent Research skills, including case law analysis, statutory interpretation, and fact investigation.
- Effective Negotiation skills for settlement discussions, mediation, and interactions with opposing counsel.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in the California Bar (or eligibility for prompt admission).
- Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills, including drafting motions, briefing, and courtroom presentations.
- Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize deadlines, and work collaboratively in an on-site team environment.
- Prior civil rights, constitutional law, or litigation experience is highly beneficial.
- Commitment to professional ethics, client service, and advancing civil rights and social justice.
