Machine Mechanic/Machine Operator
Key Responsibilities:
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on ovens, conveyors, and related machinery to prevent breakdowns.
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose and repair/replace defective components, including oven plates, electrical components, motors, sensors and other mechanical parts, using manual and electronic tools.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all machinery operates in compliance with safety regulations and food industry standards.
- Documentation & Inventory: Maintain maintenance logs and manage spare parts inventory.
- Collaboration: Work with production staff to identify and resolve issues quickly. Provide training on basic equipment operation when necessary.
- Monitoring: Monitors equipment to detect jams, malfunctions and improper temperature. Ensure finish product quality and makes adjustments to controls when necessary. Adjusts equipment controls like temperature and water. Removes product jams and residue from oven plates. Lubricates equipment according to a maintenance schedule.
- Documentation: Record production data, equipment downtime, sanitation and maintenance.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in food production.
- Technical Skills: Understanding of electrical circuits, gas ignition systems, and mechanical systems is highly preferred.
- Tools: Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work in high-temperature environments, lift 50+ lbs.
- Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED; technical certification is often preferred.
