Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching credential recognized in California
- Proven experience in a K-12 Special Education setting (mild/moderate or moderate/severe populations)
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes, legal compliance, and individualized instruction strategies
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to creating a positive, supportive classroom community
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction based on students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and diverse learning needs
- Write, implement, and track IEPs, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Create a safe, structured, and motivating classroom climate
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods, utilizing accommodations and modifications
- Regularly assess academic and behavioral progress, adjusting plans as needed
- Build strong relationships with students, supporting emotional, social, and academic development
- Participate in school-wide meetings, professional development, and ongoing parent/guardian outreach
