Step into an engaging and rewarding contract role working directly with young students in a self-contained elementary classroom. This assignment extends through June 16, 2027, and offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact on K-2nd grade learners, the majority of whom are on the autism spectrum and thrive with a hands-on, energetic approach.
In this onsite position, your day will be active and meaningful, supporting a classroom of fourteen students with mild to moderate needs. The role is tailored for a Special Education professional ready to bring their background in behavioral support to a dedicated, enthusiastic group.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Credential
- Previous experience providing behavioral support for Autistic children (required)
- Eagerness to collaborate as part of a school-based team
- Adaptability and creative problem-solving skills
- Passion for fostering growth in students with mild to moderate disabilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and behavioral support to K-2nd grade students in a self-contained setting
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with support staff, specialists, and families
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment tailored to diverse needs
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed
This is an onsite role (remote work is not available), with a schedule of 35 hours per week over a standard school day. You’ll find fulfillment leading this lively group of learners and helping each child access the curriculum in meaningful ways.
