Job Description

The Solder Assembler is responsible for assembling lithium-ion battery modules and battery packs using engineering drawings, work instructions, and production specifications. This role requires hands-on assembly experience, soldering skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a manufacturing environment while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble lithium-ion battery modules and battery packs according to work instructions and engineering drawings.
  • Install components including busbars, wiring harnesses, connectors, sensors, insulation materials, fasteners, and enclosures.
  • Perform hand soldering, crimping, adhesive application, and other assembly processes.
  • Conduct quality inspections and basic electrical or functional testing.
  • Verify part numbers, serial numbers, polarity, torque values, and component placement.
  • Complete production documentation, inspection records, and traceability paperwork accurately.
  • Identify and report defective or nonconforming materials and products.
  • Follow ESD, FOD, and lithium-ion battery safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area using 5S principles.
  • Meet production schedules, quality goals, and productivity targets.
  • Support inventory activities, cross-training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience performing soldering.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Great hand dexterity working with small parts and tools.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Experience following SOPs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with electronic assembly.
  • Familiarity with SMT (Surface-Mount Technology).

Work Environment

The work environment operates on a Monday to Friday schedule, with flexibility required for either a 5am - 1:30pm or 7am - 3:30pm shift, depending on production needs. This ensures a structured yet adaptable work setting that meets the demands of the manufacturing process.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
