Job Description
Job DescriptionAssociate Veterinarian – Private Multi-Doctor Practice
Burbank, California | $180,000 Base + Production | Full-Time
Aeries Recruiting is working with an established, locally owned veterinary hospital in Burbank that is adding a full-time Associate Veterinarian.
This is not a bare-bones GP where the doctor is expected to do everything themselves. The hospital has built its workflow around keeping veterinarians focused on veterinarian-level medicine, with an experienced support team handling responsibilities that can appropriately be delegated.
For a doctor who wants strong compensation without needing a five-day clinical schedule, this opportunity is particularly compelling.
Compensation & Schedule
The current full-time structure includes:
- $180,000 base compensation at approximately 28 patient-care hours per week
- 22% production structure
- Earning potential above $200,000 based on production
- Full-time benefits available beginning at approximately 28 hours
- Flexible scheduling
- Dedicated surgical opportunity
- Every-other-Saturday structure may be available depending on schedule configuration
Doctors interested in additional hours and a different compensation structure can be discussed individually.
Time Off & Professional Benefits
- 4 weeks of paid vacation
- 5 paid sick days
- 2 CE days
- Approximately $3,000 in professional expenses
- Significant employee discount on personal pet care
The Hospital
The practice has approximately nine veterinarians and is built around a genuinely collaborative model.
Typical doctor coverage allows multiple veterinarians to work alongside one another rather than practicing in isolation. Clinical support is approximately 2.5 team members per veterinarian, including strong technician utilization.
The hospital offers a broad small-animal caseload with particular strength in:
- General medicine
- Surgery
- Dentistry
- Sick-patient care
- Advanced diagnostics
- Preventive medicine
There is substantial dentistry volume for doctors who enjoy or want to strengthen that part of their practice.
Additional specialty resources include visiting diagnostic and cardiology support.
Who Fits Best?
The hospital is looking for a veterinarian who:
- Has solid small-animal GP experience
- Values collaboration with other doctors
- Is comfortable with dentistry
- Wants meaningful surgical opportunity
- Communicates well with clients and teammates
- Appreciates a highly leveraged support team
- Is interested in becoming part of a practice rather than making another short stop
Personality and long-term cultural fit matter here just as much as clinical ability.
Why This One Stands Out
The hospital has been locally owned for decades and has intentionally built an environment where veterinarians can practice medicine without being buried in work that should be delegated.
You get a substantial multi-doctor team, dedicated surgical opportunity, unusually strong PTO, excellent support ratios, schedule flexibility, and a compensation model capable of exceeding $200,000 without requiring a traditional five-day clinical week.
We are committed to equal employment opportunity. All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to any protected characteristic under applicable federal, state, or local law.
