A high-end country club located in West LA is seeking a temporary Payroll & HR Assistant to support the HR and payroll team for a 5-8 week assignment. This role will assist with payroll processing, timecard audits, employee onboarding, HRIS updates, reporting, and general administrative support. Role is onsite Mon-Thurs.
Responsibilities:
• Support payroll activities by entering updates, monitoring earnings and deduction changes, and assisting with correction requests as needed.
• Examine employee time records to confirm accuracy, identify discrepancies, and help maintain compliance with company policies and pay practices.
• Create and organize payroll, timekeeping, and human resources reports to support daily operations and internal tracking needs.
• Assist with onboarding processes for new employees, including preparing documentation and coordinating timekeeping and HR system setup.
• Handle employment verification requests, assemble benefits-related materials, and maintain accurate personnel files and supporting records.
• Help document workplace incidents, assist with workers’ compensation paperwork, and track return-to-work information for affected employees.
• Perform administrative support tasks such as scanning, filing, data entry, and record maintenance to keep HR and payroll documentation current.
• Provide responsive assistance to employees and internal stakeholders by answering routine payroll and HR questions in a thorough and courteous manner.
• At least 2 years of administrative experience, with previous exposure to payroll or human resources support preferred.
• Strong accuracy and organizational ability, with a careful approach to handling sensitive employee information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including intermediate Excel skills for tracking, reporting, and data review.
• Ability to manage several responsibilities at once while meeting deadlines in a busy work environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills paired with a detail-oriented, service-oriented approach.
• Familiarity with HR administration, onboarding coordination, employee relations support, or HRIS-related tasks.
• Experience working in hospitality, luxury, private club, or other customer-focused settings is considered an advantage.
• Bilingual Spanish skills are preferred.
