Job Description

Job Description The Company

Our client is a mission-driven nonprofit organization working at the intersection of healthcare, education and workforce development. Through partnerships with employers, educational institutions, community organizations and public agencies, the organization creates career pathways for local residents while helping build a skilled and diverse healthcare workforce.

The Big Picture

This is a newly created leadership role with the opportunity to become the organization’s key presence in the Napa/Solano region. The Director will own regional relationships, programs and community engagement while working closely with the CEO and colleagues across neighboring regions.

This role is equal parts relationship builder, program leader and community connector. You’ll develop strong partnerships throughout Napa and Solano Counties, bring the right people to the table, oversee regional initiatives and help identify new opportunities to expand healthcare career pathways.

What You’ll Tackle

  • Lead the development and execution of regional priorities in partnership with the CEO, Advisory Board and County Steering Committee(s).

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with healthcare employers, educational institutions, community organizations, agencies and other regional partners.

  • Plan and convene Steering Committee meetings, workforce committees and other collaborative initiatives.

  • Oversee regional programs and events from planning through execution.

  • Develop and manage regional budgets and track key program and event metrics.

  • Serve as a visible representative and advocate for the organization and healthcare career opportunities throughout the region.

  • Stay engaged in regional conversations and initiatives related to healthcare workforce development.

  • Create opportunities for the CEO and Advisory Board members to engage with elected officials, media and other community leaders.

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to pursue grants, contracts and philanthropic funding supporting internships, scholarships, clinical supervision and other workforce programs.

  • Help recruit, train and lead program and administrative staff as the region grows.

What You BringExperience

  • At least five years of relevant professional experience within healthcare, higher education, nonprofit, government or a similarly relevant environment.

  • Established relationships within Napa and/or Solano County and a strong understanding of the region.

  • Experience managing programs, including reporting, budgeting/accounting and relationship management.

  • Experience in one or more areas such as event planning, donor cultivation and stewardship, communications or public relations.

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Comfort with Microsoft Office, email, videoconferencing, calendars and electronic file management.

You Tend to Be . . .

A natural relationship builder who genuinely enjoys connecting people and organizations around a shared goal. You’re comfortable moving between strategy and execution, whether that means sitting down with a healthcare executive, facilitating a community meeting, reviewing a budget or making sure an upcoming program stays on track.

You’re also someone who takes ownership. You can operate independently, keep multiple priorities moving and represent an organization confidently in the community while knowing when to pull in the CEO or broader team.

Where This Can Go

This is a chance to build something. As a newly established regional leadership position, the Director will have significant influence over how the organization grows its presence, partnerships and impact throughout Napa and Solano Counties.

The position is currently grant-funded for two years, with continued employment dependent upon performance and development of sustainable funding for the role.

The Perks & Practicalities

Compensation: 115,000–125,000 annually, with potential for future growth as resources allow.

Benefits: Full-time, exempt, benefitted position.
