Job Description

Job Description

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

● Lead architecture, design, analysis, and verification of analog, digital, mixed-signal, RF/wireless, and power-management circuits for medical device and manufacturing applications.

● Own schematic capture, PCB layout, BOM development, component selection, design documentation, and release activities using Altium Designer and related engineering tools.

● Apply design-for-manufacturability, design-for-test, signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC, reliability, and safety best practices throughout the product development lifecycle.

● Lead hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, characterization, validation, and design verification testing of prototype and production electronics.

● Integrate and test communication interfaces including I2C, UART, SPI, USB, BLE, and other wired or wireless protocols as required by product architecture.

● Specify, integrate, and troubleshoot common transducers and electromechanical components, including audio components, visual displays, motors and motor drivers, sensors, batteries, chargers, and other peripherals.

● Collaborate with systems, software, mechanical, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and supply-chain partners to translate requirements into robust, manufacturable electronic designs.

● Lead or contribute to design reviews, risk analysis, FMEA activities, design verification planning, technical documentation, and subsystem architecture decisions.

● Support development of test fixtures, manufacturing equipment, inspection methods, and production test strategies for components, assemblies, and finished devices.

● Investigate field, manufacturing, supplier, and reliability issues; implement corrective actions and design improvements.

● Provide technical leadership, design guidance, and review support to cross-functional technical contributors.

Minimum Qualifications

Education, Experience and Training

● Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

● 7+ years of experience in electronic hardware design and development, preferably in medical device, wearable, consumer electronics, robotics, or other regulated product environments.

● Expertise in analog, digital, mixed-signal, low-power, and power-management circuit design.

● Advanced proficiency with Altium Designer, schematic capture, PCB layout, BOM management, and design release processes.

● Strong experience with microcontrollers, embedded systems architecture, board-level interfaces, and peripheral integration.

● Strong knowledge of communication protocols including I2C, UART, SPI, USB, BLE, and other common embedded interfaces.

● Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power analyzers, and other lab equipment for debugging and characterization.

● Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical investigations, perform root-cause analysis, and drive issues to closure.

● Experience contributing to design controls, risk management, verification testing, and documentation in a regulated product development environment preferred.

● Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs clearly and collaborate effectively across engineering, quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and supplier teams.
