A construction company in Poway, CA is seeking a Sub-Contractor Accounting Manager to oversee full-cycle accounting, subcontractor billing, financial reporting, and project-related accounting processes. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional with hands-on construction industry experience who understands the pace, detail, and documentation required to support successful project execution.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership, operations, project teams, subcontractors, and vendors in a collaborative environment where accuracy, accountability, and communication are highly valued. The Sub-Contractor Accounting Manager will play a key role in maintaining financial controls, improving accounting workflows, supporting job cost visibility, and ensuring timely billing and collections.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, billing, and collections.
- Oversee subcontractor-related accounting processes, including pay applications, documentation, insurance tracking, and compliance support.
- Prepare financial reports, job costing information, and project accounting updates for management review.
- Support billing workflows and project administration using construction accounting tools such as Procore and Textura.
- Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, clients, and vendors to resolve accounting discrepancies and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with HR-related administrative and payroll coordination tasks as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $85,000 + DOE
