Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching credential (or eligibility for certification)
- Experience supporting students with diverse learning differences
- Familiarity with IEP processes and implementation
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt lessons and instructional strategies for individual student needs
- Positive, collaborative approach with colleagues, families, and staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to students with disabilities according to their IEPs
- Assess student strengths and needs to tailor instruction and accommodations
- Develop and implement lesson plans that foster growth in both academic and functional skills
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and other support staff
- Maintain accurate records, progress reports, and required documentation
- Engage with families to support student progress and ensure continuity of services
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting and planning
- Build a classroom climate that is respectful, inclusive, and fosters student independence
