Job Summary
The Badging Clerk / Security System Technician is responsible for onsite employee and workforce identification badge production, access provisioning, and security system support. This role issues and replaces badges, manages access changes, maintains accurate records, supports onboarding, and troubleshoots badge-related systems while providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue, program, replace, and troubleshoot employee and non-employee ID badges.
- Photograph badge holders and support high-volume badge production and onboarding.
- Process badge requests through ticketing systems and maintain accurate records.
- Manage access changes for new hires, transfers, terminations, department moves, and special projects.
- Verify access requests and assign appropriate security access levels.
- Monitor badge expiration dates and suspend or terminate access as required.
- Support Workday and Kronos badge data integrations.
- Create barcodes for Point of Care systems.
- Troubleshoot badge connectivity with Imprivata, Follow-Me Printing, elevators, pneumatic tubes, ScrubEx, and other connected systems.
- Prepare badge production and transaction reports.
- Provide responsive customer service to employees, physicians, vendors, contractors, volunteers, and students.
- Follow established security policies, procedures, and access-control requirements.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of recent experience in badging, security access, administrative, or technical support.
- Hands-on experience with badge issuance, programming, replacement, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, data entry, and multiple computer applications.
- Experience with access provisioning and badge record management.
- Experience using ticketing systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with C-Cure 9000, Lenel, Brivo, AMAG, or Genetec.
- Experience with Workday and Kronos integrations.
- Healthcare, hospital, or medical center security/badging experience.
- Experience supporting physician, vendor, contractor, volunteer, or student badge provisioning.
- Experience creating security/badge reports for HR, Payroll, or Security departments.
