Allegiance Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. We specialize in commercial and public works electrical construction throughout Southern California, with a strong focus on K-12 schools, DSA projects, modernizations, and other public facilities.
We are looking for someone who understands how electrical work is actually built—not just how to perform a takeoff. The right candidate can develop complete, competitive estimates while identifying scope gaps, project risks, and opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare complete electrical estimates from plans and specifications.
- Perform detailed takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and project-specific costs.
- Review Division 00/01 and Division 26 requirements.
- Solicit and level vendor and subcontractor quotes.
- Identify scope gaps, exclusions, alternates, phasing, and project risks.
- Attend job walks and prepare pre-bid RFIs.
- Prepare bid breakdowns and subcontractor listings.
- Participate in final bid reviews and pricing strategy.
- Provide complete estimate turnovers to Project Management after award.
- Review bid results and actual project performance to continuously improve estimating accuracy.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of electrical estimating and/or electrical construction experience preferred.
- Strong commercial electrical construction knowledge.
- California public works and K-12/DSA experience strongly preferred.
- Experience estimating electrical projects from approximately $500K to $10M+.
- Knowledge of prevailing wage and public bidding requirements.
- Strong understanding of labor productivity, material pricing, and electrical installation methods.
- Proficient with estimating/takeoff software and Excel.
- Field or project management experience is a plus.
