- Develop detailed manufacturing plans, production routers, and work instructions for aerospace components and assemblies.
- Determine the most efficient sequence of manufacturing operations, including cutting, bending, machining, welding, fabrication, inspection, and testing.
- Identify required tooling, fixtures, equipment, materials, and outside processing.
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing routings, and production documentation.
- Evaluate manufacturing feasibility and identify potential production challenges.
- Interpret GD&T, dimensional tolerances, material specifications, and customer requirements.
- Develop clear, accurate shop instructions to ensure parts are manufactured according to engineering specifications.
- Review customer drawings and identify missing information, discrepancies, or clarification requirements.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Estimating departments.
- Support first article production, new product introductions, and manufacturing process improvements.
- Review and revise manufacturing plans based on engineering changes, customer revisions, and production requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize production errors.
- Ensure manufacturing documentation complies with applicable aerospace quality standards and customer requirements.
- Provide technical support to production personnel regarding manufacturing methods, tooling, and process requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing engineering, process planning, or technical manufacturing planning within the aerospace industry.
- Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, including machining, fabrication, welding, and assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret complex aerospace engineering drawings and specifications.
- Thorough knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience developing manufacturing routers, process plans, and detailed work instructions.
- Ability to determine manufacturing sequences, equipment requirements, tooling needs, and production methods.
- Understanding of material specifications, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and coordinate with multiple departments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
