Title: Machinist
Location: Torrance, CA 90504
Duration: 07+ Months (with possible extension).
Shift: Third Shift 10.00 pm - 6.00am
Pay Rate: $30.50/hr.
Job Summary:
- We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with experience in either CNC Lathes or CNC Mills to support a low-volume, high-mix precision manufacturing environment.
- The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience performing machine setups, running production, conducting first article inspections, and maintaining extremely tight tolerances on aerospace-quality components.
- This role requires a detail-oriented individual capable of managing multiple machines, verifying part quality, and working independently to ensure production requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes.
- Experience boring and setting soft jaws to achieve tight runout tolerances.
- Ability to hold tolerances as tight as .0002" on bores and critical rotating components.
- Experience measuring and inspecting runout requirements.
- Experience setting up and operating CNC Mills in a production environment.
- Experience performing first article inspections.
- Ability to verify dimensions and ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience running production parts with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with aerospace or precision rotating components.
- Experience holding runout tolerances on high-speed rotating assemblies.
- Experience with air gauging for bore verification.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Ability to make basic G-code modifications.
- Prior experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of CNC machining experience.
- Equivalent combination of training and experience will be considered.
