At HOPE, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed. Through our community programs, we empower youth and families with the tools, resources, and support they need to build brighter futures.

If you're passionate about working with kids, enjoy planning activities, and want hands-on experience in youth development, education, or social services, we'd love to meet you!

What You'll Do

As our Afterschool Program Site Coordinator, you'll be the person bringing energy, creativity, and leadership to our afterschool program!

  • Make learning fun. Plan and lead exciting activities, games, STEAM projects, and enrichment programs.
  • Be a positive role model. Mentor students, build meaningful connections, and encourage personal growth.
  • Create a welcoming space. Help students feel safe, included, supported, and excited to participate.
  • Bring your ideas to life. Organize activities, special events, and creative learning experiences.
  • Lead your team. Help guide program assistants and volunteers to keep activities running smoothly.
  • Support student success. Encourage academic growth, confidence, teamwork, and healthy habits.
  • Keep things organized. Assist with daily program operations, attendance, snacks, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
  • Connect with the community. Build positive relationships with students, parents, and team members.

What We're Looking For

You don't need years of experience to make a difference! We're looking for someone who's dependable, enthusiastic, and genuinely enjoys working with young people.

Here's what you'll need:

  • High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
  • At least 1 year of experience working or volunteering in social services, preferably with children or teens.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • A positive attitude, patience, creativity, and a team-player mindset.
  • Confidence leading group activities and supervising youth.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with staff and volunteers.
  • Ability to pass a background check and TB screening.

Bonus points if you:

  • Are studying or interested in education, psychology, social work, child development, or a related field.
  • Have experience as a camp counselor, tutor, youth mentor, classroom assistant, or volunteer.
  • Love coming up with creative games, projects, and activities that keep kids engaged.

Why You'll Love Working With Us

  • Part-time opportunity: Gain valuable experience while balancing school, personal goals, or other commitments.
  • Meaningful work: Make a real difference in the lives of children and families.
  • Hands-on experience: Build skills in youth development, program coordination, and leadership.
  • Creative environment: Bring your personality, ideas, and enthusiasm to work.
  • Supportive team: Join a mission-driven organization that values community, growth, and making an impact.

A Few Things to Know

This is an active, hands-on role! You'll be moving around, participating in games, setting up activities, and keeping up with energetic students.

The position may involve standing, walking, bending, crouching, occasional outdoor activities, driving, and lifting up to 20 pounds. You'll also use computers and basic office equipment.

Position Type: Part-Time | Non-Exempt (Hourly)
