Job Description Mid-Level to Senior Associate – Intellectual Property Litigation

Direct Counsel is seeking a midlevel to senior IP Litigation Associate to join a "White Shoe", international AmLaw firm with a prestigious reputation.

The firm's IP practice comprises more than 100 attorneys advising clients on complex intellectual property matters, including patent litigation. The team handles high-stakes disputes in federal district courts, before the International Trade Commission (ITC), and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB).

Responsibilities:

• Analyze patents and prepare infringement and invalidity contentions.

• Develop litigation strategies and work with technical experts.

• Draft briefs, manage discovery, and prepare witnesses.

• Take and defend depositions and assist with hearings and trial preparation.

• Work directly with clients and colleagues on complex matters.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.

• 4+ years of patent litigation experience.

• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

• Federal district court litigation experience; PTAB or ITC experience preferred.

• Ability to manage complex matters independently and collaboratively.

Compensation: $310,000–$435,000 commensurate with experience, plus eligibility for an hours-based bonus.
